St. John Vianney Fraternity……. Gathering August 13, 2017
We began the day by singing “Prayer of St. Francis”, followed by the opening prayers from the ritual.
We recited the Liturgy of the Hours, Evening Prayer II for Sunday 19th week in Ordinary Time.
August celebrants were recognized.
Sister Grace (Carla) profession is on August 26th at 11AM at the Immaculate Conception Convent in Lodi, NJ. Those present signed up to offer prayers by way of a spiritual bouquet for Sister Grace.
Those present also selected prayers to be offered in a spiritual bouquet for Sister Finny.
Dolores will need to know quickly if anyone is going on the bus to see the Padre Pio relics. The dates for the event at St. Patrick’s Cathedral are September 17 and 18.
The rite of admission for Sister Dawn will take place at the September gathering.
We need to make plans for the Transitus of St. Francis on October 3rd.
Group 2 presentation of “Laudato Si” Chapter 6 is planned for the October gathering.
Lectio Divina (Bible study) details will have to wait until Paul D returns.
Our next visit to St. Joseph’s Assisted Living is tentatively set for Saturday, November 4th.
We discussed ways to raise money for the fraternity. We are in need of used Christmas cards for craft projects.
Anna gave a talk on Franciscan St. Maximilian Kolbe whose feast day is August 14th.
The next council meeting is on Wednesday, September 6.
Closing prayers were recited from the ritual.
Next gathering is Sunday, September 10th at 1:30PM at SJV Church.
